2026 Ponderosa Invitationals

TIME AND DATE: This is four session, 2 day, Prelim / Final with AM & PM sessions on Saturday and Sunday. The Prelim meet sessions will start promptly at 9:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday. The Finals meet sessions will begin at 5:30 PM on each day. However, please check with the announcer’s table for any changes. WARM-UPS Warm-up lanes will be available before the start of each session. Dive-only lanes will be assigned as needed. The competition pool will be closed 30 minutes prior to the start of the preliminary heats and 15 minutes prior to the start of finals. Four (4) warm up lanes will be available in the dive well pool closest to the diving boards. No diving is allowed. Swimmers must enter and exit from spectator side of the pool only. Split warm-ups will be in effect, with team and lane assignments posted on the NWAL and PI website, at least 3 days prior to the start of the meet. FACILITY SET-UP & REGULATIONS: FACILITY OPENING TIMES The facility will open for swimmers and spectators at 7 AM for Prelims, close after Prelims, and will open again at 4 PM for Finals. SWIMMER SEATING Swimmer-set up will be allowed on-deck in the bleacher areas as well as on the upper level overflow seating located over pool 2 which will only be used for warm-up. WET SWIMMERS: Bleachers will be available indoors for swimmers only. We reserve the right to utilize the upper level spectator viewing area for swimmer seating as needed. Absolutely NO WET SWIMMERS ALLOWED IN THE COMMON AREAS. All swimmers are to be fully clothed including shoes before entering the lobby or spectator viewing area. (Parkas, towels, and/or robes over swim suits do not constitute full clothing. Shirt and shorts/pants and shoes must be worn at all times in the spectator area.) All swimmers that do not comply will asked to leave the area. SPECTATOR SEATING The stands in the pool area will be for observation only. There will be NO SET-UP in the bleachers or standing at the railing in front of the bleachers and other areas that are roped off for spectator viewing. Parents need to watch their swimmer race and then return to their seating area or outside to allow others to see their swimmers. Swimmers are encouraged to sit on deck, in seating area not designated for viewing, or outside as a team. There is ample lawn space for set-up. There is no flash photography at the start of a race. The section of bleachers directly across from the competition pool(s) will be designated as come- and-go seating only. These sections will only open 5 minutes before the start of the session. Parents are to watch their swimmer then leave the area in order to allow other parents to view their swimmer’s events. Stadium seats are NOT ALLOWED in the Spectator Come-and-Go Seating Areas. This will be strictly enforced. Coolers are NOT allowed in the spectator seating area. Coolers with rollers are NOT allowed in the facility. TEAM SET-UP All team and spectator set-up will be OUTDOORS in designated areas. No tent set up is allowed on any grassy areas directly adjoining to the natatorium. We reserve the right to consolidate or move Saturday Prelims Finals 7:00am 4:00pm Sunday Prelims Finals 7:00am 4:00pm team areas at the Ponderosa Committee’s discretion. Large items such as inflatable mattresses, oversized lawn chairs and coolers will not be allowed in the facility. There will be NO SET-UP in the bleachers or standing at the railing in front of the bleachers and other areas that are roped off for spectator viewing. Parents need to watch their swimmer race and then return to their seating area or outside to allow others to see their swimmers. Swimmers are encouraged to sit on deck, in seating area not designated for viewing, or outside as a team. There is ample lawn space for set-up. AWARDS: MEDALS: Custom Medals will be awarded to the first eight places in individual events and first 3 places in relay events by single age group as described below. RIBBONS: Ribbons will be awarded to the ninth through sixteenth place winners in individual events and fourth to eighth place for relays. HIGH POINT TROPHIES: A 1st and 2nd will be awarded to individuals scoring the highest total number of points within each of their eligible age groups described below. In the event of a tie for High Point Awards, the winner will be determined by the swimmer with the most first-place finishes, followed by second-place finishes, and so on until the tie is broken. AGE GROUPS DESCRIBED: 6 & under, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15/16, 17/18. (6 & under age groups are eligible to score points in 8 & under and 10 & under events) TEAM TROPHIES: Team trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams in each Group. Groups will be established based on total team entries for the Ponderosa Invitational. POOL CONFIGURATION: The Ponderosa Invitational will be swum in yards. One eight-lane, 25 yard indoor pool with non-turbulent lane lines will be used for competition. One eight-lane, 25 yard indoor pool with non-turbulent lane lines and the dive well pool will be used for assigned warm-ups prior to the meet. A separate warm-up / warm-down area will be made available during the competition. TIMING ASSIGNMENTS: Two watches per lane will be used as back-up. Teams may be requested to furnish timers during the Preliminary Sessions only based on their percentage of swims at the meet. Timing assignments will be published in the Ponderosa Invitational website as well as on the NWAL website. A timer/scribe meeting for all sessions will be 15 minutes before the start of each session. Ponderosa Swim Team and Lone Star Swim Team will provide head timers during the Preliminary Sessions and all Timers for the Finals Sessions. VOLUNTEERS: Ponderosa Swim Team and Lone Star Swim Team will provide all necessary personnel to run the meet with the exception of Timing Assignments as mentioned in the Timing Assignments Section. READY BENCH: The Ready Bench area is off limits to parents, coaches and spectators as per NWAL rules. Ready Bench personnel will assist the swimmers in the ready area. It is the SWIMMERS’ RESPONSIBILITY to be at the Ready Bench on time. Pay attention to the meet and announcers to arrive at ready bench on time. OFFICIALS: Officials interested in working at the Invitational should email the meet referee, Rob Morris, at [email protected]. Please include a short description of your experience. CONCESSIONS: Concessions will be available. POOL DECK RESTRICTION: STRICTLY ENFORCED, NO EXCEPTIONS, NO EXCUSES Due to safety and insurance guidelines and restrictions, the swimming pool deck is closed to all persons except swimmers, coaches, marshals, officials, meet personnel, and timers. If you are asked to leave the deck by any meet personnel, please do so. It is for your safety. No food on deck. Please ensure seating area is left clean prior to leaving the venue. MEET RESULTS: Meet results will be posted on the NWAL Web Page within two days after the conclusion of the meet. Unofficial real time results will be available on MEET MOBILE. |

Should the warmup/down 3 lane pool be misused by athletes during the competition, the Meet Referee and Meet Director reserve the right to close it down. TIME & DATE: Friday, June 19 - Sunday, June 21, 2026 This is a three (3) day, 5 session timed finals meet. SETUP: Air-conditioned / indoor setup areas will be available in the school hallways and commons. Overflow can be set up outside under the main walkway. Refer to the section labeled “Doors Open”. NO SETUP IS ALLOWED IN THE SPECTATOR AREA. No one is allowed upstairs or in restricted areas. (Please refer to the section “KISD FACILITY RULES & MEET SETUP”). PARKING: Do not double park or block others. Please do not park on the lawn or in fire lanes. Klein High has a large student parking lot in addition to the staff/bus parking lot in the front of the school. Klein ISD police officers will be monitoring the parking lots. MERCHANDISE: Custom Allstar Meet shirts/hoodies will be on sale from D&J as well as other apparel and swim gear at the meet. Free giveaways at the PACK Swimming Promotional Table. DOORS OPEN: Doors will open at 4:30 PM on Friday and 7:15 AM on Saturday & Sunday. NO ONE will be permitted inside the school or natatorium until this time. Mixed gender relays on Friday consist of 2 girls and 2 boys. Teams may enter as many as 2 relays per event and all relays are eligible to score points. PACK Swimming will be assigning timer chairs to participating teams and requesting officials from all attending teams. At no time are any parents, spectators, team board members or NWAL representatives allowed on deck unless they are timing. Only the coaching staff and officials who show proper deck passes are allowed ondeck. READY BENCH: The Allstar Championship Meet will provide a ready bench to assist younger swimmers navigate a large invitational. At no times are parents or spectators allowed in the ready bench area. Only athletes/swimmers are allowed in the ready area. CONCESSIONS Drinks and snacks will be available. Cash will be accepted or any sales or participants can pay via Square for $5.00 or more purchases. MEET SETUP: Air Conditioned / indoor setup will be available in the hallways & commons area at the high school. Families can choose to set up outside if preferred. No large furniture, inflatable mattresses/beds/chairs or large areas can be saved for teams. Please share the space and make room for your fellow summer league teams and families. All teams and family areas must clean their area prior to leaving for the day. NO ONE is allowed upstairs or in other restricted areas of Klein High School. If you are found in one of these areas, you will be asked to leave the facility and will not be able to continue to participate in the meet. No items may be left overnight. Walkways & exit doors must be kept clear. When setting up in the team set-up area, please use courtesy and consideration as teams choose the size of their space. The meet host does reserve the right to consolidate or move team areas at their discretion. Large items such as inflatable mattresses will not be allowed. |

MEET TYPE & EVENTS: All events will be swum as a Timed Final Event. In case of bad weather, the meet may be delayed, and or suspended at the discretion of the Meet Referee and CyFair facility. Split warm-ups will be in effect, with team and lane assignments posted: • Swim Streamline at Northampton website: www.swimstreamline.com • Northampton Cudas website: www.swimstreamline.com Girl’s Pool will be in the west pool (closet to the lobby) Boy’s Pool will be in the east pool (diving well) • All mixed relays, the start of each session, will swim in the east pool Sunday, May 31 – will be for all freestyle events (except the 100 free and ages 10 & under 50 free); backstroke, individual medley and freestyle relay events. Warm-ups will start at 10:00 a.m. and the meet will start at 12:00 p.m. Relay cards will be due by 11:00 a.m. If you miss the deadline to turn relay cards in changes will need to be made at the ready bench by your Relay liaison. Monday, June 1 - will be for all breaststroke, butterfly, ages 11 & over 100 free, 10 & under 50 free, and medley relay events. Warm-ups start at 3:00 p.m. and the meet will start at 5:00 p.m. Relay cards will be due by 4:00 pm. If you miss the deadline to turn relay cards in changes will need to be made at the ready bench by your Relay liaison. AWARDS: Custom medals will be awarded for the 1st – 8 th place finishers for each individual event by each age group. Custom ribbons will be awarded for 1st – 3 rd place for relay events. Individual High Point Trophies will be awarded to the top high point boy and girl in each respective age group. Age Groups: • 6&U, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15-16, 17-18 High Point Team trophies will be awarded to the top 3 teams in 3 divisions: Large, Medium & Small • Divisions will determined by individual entries after submission Awards & Tie Breakers: • Individual Highpoint & Team – If a tie exists for highpoint position or team awards; we will determine who wins by adding up the most 1st place wins, then 2nd place wins and so on until the tie is broken. • Individual Event Medals/Ribbons – If a tie exists awards will be given to each individual for two-way ties, if a three-way tie exits the seed times of each individual or relay will be used to determine the top two to receive the awards. • 10&U Events – Awards will be issued as 9&U and 10 year old (e.g. Ages 8&Under will compete against 9 year olds for awards) • 8&U Events – Awards will be issued as 7&U and 8 year old (e.g. Ages 6&Under will compete against 7 year olds for awards) READY BENCH: A Sprint Sizzler ready bench is offered per NWAL norms to assist younger swimmers in navigating a large invitational. Swimmers are expected to arrive at the ready bench when their events are called so heat and lane seating can happen in a timely manner. Swimmers 13 & up who do not arrive at the ready bench when expected may be responsible for getting to their own races. The meet will not be held up or stopped for swimmers not arriving to the blocks when their heat is run. Teams and parents are responsible for assisting their own swimmers in getting to the ready bench and refunds are not offered for missed events. POOL: Eight lanes, indoor 25-yard anti-wave pools with non-turbulent lane lines will be used to minimize the timeline and maximize the FUN; electronic timing with automatic data acquisition, Scoreboard results. PARENT SETUP: Spectator bleacher indoor seating is for observation only. There is NO SETUP in the stands and please NO flash photography at the start of a race. Team set up is outdoors, in the grass on the east side of the NAT (easiest access to viewing/ready bench from here). Tents are advised, No generators on the grass, and No set up in the circle drive way. POOL DECK RESTRICTIONS: Because of Insurance Safety Regulations, the swimming pool deck, during the operation of the Sprint Sizzler Invitational swim meet, is closed to all persons except swimmers, coaches, marshals, officials, meet personnel, and timers. If you are asked to leave the deck by any meet personnel, you must do so. TIMING: A Colorado electronic timing system with electronic scoreboard will be used. Two watches per lane will be used as a back-up. Teams will be required to furnish timers based on their percentage of swims at the meet. CONCESSIONS & MERCHANDISE: A custom Sprint Sizzler Invitational Meet shirt will be on sale at the meet as well as swim apparel and swim gear. Concessions will be available onsite. |
